Different controls when starting mid air than on ground?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have just started flying in the Flight Simulator 2020, and so far I'm having fun. I don't have a joystick, so I control the plane by using the keyboard. This works surprisingly well when I take off from the ground, because pressing num pad 5 makes the manoveur "stick". So, if I press num pad 4 to turn left, the plane will gradually lean over to the left. When I press 5, it leans no more or no less than that. To straigthen up, I press num pad 6, and the plane slowly leans back up, and I press num pad 5 to stop the movement from left to right.

If I start the flight in mid air, however, the controls work differently. If I press num pad 4, the plane leans left, but as soon as I let the button go, the plane straitgtens up again. The same thing happens if I press num pad 5. In stead of "sticking" to whatever setting I have when pressing num pad 5, things straitghten up. This makes flying nearly impossible.

So, why is this? Is there anything I can do to change it, so that all controls work as they do when I take off myself?

(I am planning on getting a joystick, but I would still like figuring this out until I do.)

Thanks for your help!
