Tutorial 11 - Helicopter Intermediate framerates

Featured Replies

Has anyone else experienced particularly challenging framerates in this tutorial mission?Generally I get pretty acceptable frame rates of around 15 fps, but in this mission I have had the framerates plummet to the point of losing control!Any thoughts and/or suggestions appreciated.Graham

In general FSX is a resource hog just like FS2004 was when it came out. You are going to need some upgrades to your hardware (maybe a whole new computer) and the expected patches from MS. Until then you will just have to get used to reduced settings and a lot of tweaking. We had the same situation with FS2004 except at least with 2004 the hardware and software to make it run well was available. With FSX you will need to wait for even that. I've found that for GA and bush flying FSX works passably well. Might want to revisit that for the time being. Soon the hardware and software will be available and you'll get to see everything the new sim offers. Just have to have patience.
