November 5, 200619 yr It seems like for your dual core cpu users the new dirextX card is using ever bit of you cpus. It looks like it almost doubles FPS in everything. So now maybe in a roundabout way dual core cpu use may be seen in FSX.http://www.dailytech.com/article.aspx?newsid=4812http://xtreview.com/addcomment-id-837-view...gtx-review.htmlThis link below is only to give you the cost of that new beast nothing more.http://www.ewiz.com/detail.php?p=MSI-880GTX&c=fr&show=p
November 5, 200619 yr This seems to happen a lot. Someone thinks there will be a magic bullet solution to our problems. Vista, DX10, dual core etc etc, none of them will provide a huge leap in terms of performance. Let's get real here, the only thing any of this technology including FSX has been able to do exceedingly well at is pure hype. Don't get your hopes up.
November 5, 200619 yr The real performance of these new cards will be the use of the new features like geometry shader and stream out. As far as raw clock speeds go, they are only a bit better than the current cards. I specifically asked people (who post here) from ACES about the use of those new features in the future FSX DX10 patch. So far, I have yet to get an answer from them. It don't look that good to me at the moment; but who know, things might change in the next few weeks.
November 6, 200619 yr Sorry Alex it did not look like hype to me allmost every test showed speeds doubled while using dual core cpus. Even on apps and games not using dual core.It maybe that this is a cpu and gpu made for each other in just using boths full power.
