need help with an autopilot problem, thanks

I'm new to flight sims and have been flying the a320 for a while now and its been working great but all of a sudden my autopilot has stopped working and every time i apply the AP button it steers of course and fly's in circles is there anything anybody can recommend as i have tried everything i can find, thanks
