How to install MSFS into a custom folder

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

I have created a video showing you how to install Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 through a custom installation process.

That means you can avoid the default huge long directories for the community folder that look like this: C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\Packages\ Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community

But instead have (your selected installation drive) D:\MSFS 2020\Community\

This makes it so much easier to install addons and find your community folder! You can even store your addon data on another drive!

In the video I cover:

- Downloading MSFS from the Microsoft Store

- Opening up the sim for the first time

- Choosing your installation location

- Installing the necessary files required

- Finishing off the installation process

Check it out here: If you find it helpful please give it a thumbs up and subscribe to the channel to stay up to date with more tutorials and flight sim content! Also leave a comment below!
