Resized textures = stutters ?

Featured Replies

Hi,I would like to share a strange experience. I had to reinstall FSX this weekend, and once this was done, I copied-past my previous tweaked fsx.cfg file, renamed my autogen default.xml to morefps.bak (this is positive thinking...) and started flying after defraging, without changing my original texture files for resized ones as usuall, and with the exact same settings as previous install (see bellow). My first surprise was that there was nearly no loss in fps with the original FSX textures(max 1-1,5, lower at low altitudes) and most of it NO MORE STUTTERS (which made me mad on FSX).Since I used FSX, this was my first real smooth flight, always between 19-25fps (target at 25).So, without wishing at all underestimate the huge work made by Matt on texture resizing, i just want to know if other people have had similar experiences where resized textures seam to create stutters as it did for me.For info, my settings are all maxed for scenery, except autogen (dense), with no traffic (no plane, cars or boat), anysotropic filtering, detailed thin clouds at 60miles, sea high 1x and no shadows at all.Did it happen to someone else ?RegardsPatrick Geneva
