November 13, 200619 yr For years I was under the impression two outside views with two monitors would require a second computer. As usual I was wrong.Over the weekend I hooked up a second 19" LCD to my setup and placed it to the right of my center main monitor. I opened a second window with a forward view within FSX (and FS9) with the left bracket ([) key and dragged it to the right hand monitor. Once it was placed I pressed the "Pg Up" key to shift it to a right forward quarter view. I moved the mouse back to the center monitor and lifted my finger from the "Pg Up" key to lock the right quarter view. It worked and did not affect performance. I was positioned at KTRI in the default Baron and getting 20+ FPS with a panoramic view, at least to the right side. The test was done in clear skies with no autogen. I will try it again, but with autogen. Switching to the "stormy weather" theme reduced FPS to about 10. With FSX, I appear to be limited to "clear skies" or "fair weather". FS9 will probably give me more weather choices. The alignment of the two monitors is close but not exact and it varies during turns and decents, but the peripheral vision gained by the second monitor is well worth the imperfections. This works in FS9 too, but undocking to a second monitor requires shifting to a windows mode.
