November 17, 200619 yr Ok so FSX is awesome and such but some of the plane's models and panels are a bit lacking so I experimented with some substitutes. I used MelJet's 747 V3 and despite a FS9 model, FSX rendered it beautifully except for the panels. Now in panel.cfg for the plane, it is routed to the default FSX's 747 Panel file that includes virtual cockpits and views, but in-game the virtual cockpit was missing and so are interior views, only to have the 2D Panel existant. I also tried to move the Default Panel files to the Meljet's file it self, but that was even worse as the whole plane in-game disappeared...This also happens to the FSX-Supported Skycolor KLM 737-400... Everything was there except no virtual cockpit from the default 737-800 panel files and views... Only the darned 2D Panel... What is wrong with this as every add-on plane currently that doesn't have its own vc and regular panel would suck as the default panels that MSFT gives seems to only work fully with their own, lacking-texture, planes...Does anyone know why is it like this and has a plan to fix this cause SkyColor and Meljet's planes a wayyyyy better than MSFT's but due to the current FSX add-on panel shortage, I want to use the whole default FSX panels for them right now and such but that my friends isn't happening... Darn you MSFT!PS: Sorry I suck at perfected English and I tend to be very wordy... Bear with me here...
November 17, 200619 yr Well... back in FS9, aliasing to another aircraft that had a virtual pit, you'd still only get the 2d panel... and no pit. Based on that, I'd bet it's the same in FSXInstead, why not look for proper panels for the aircraft in question? Yes, very few are currently available that are also FSX compatible, but that'll be your best option in future. Or wait for aircraft that have virtual pits!
November 17, 200619 yr VC = MODEL issue. If it's not included in the model file for the particular aircraft, you don't get one. Its the same with FS9.Allcott
