Autogen no longer fades in. Regression in FSX?

Featured Replies

In FS9, when autogen objects were added to the scenery they would "fade in" using a transparency layer. In FSX they just appear abruptly in a off/on mode. The effect in FS9 was very nice as you wouldn't really see the objects appearing unless you looked very hard or really concentrated. In FSX it's all very abrupt and distracting.Apart from that and the perf issues in FSX I'm globally happy with FSX.Are other people experiencing the same or is it just me?Rgds,JCMK

Hi, I experience exactly the same and I find it really annoying. I would like to know the reason why this nice feature has been removed.Regards,Jan

The distance at which autogen objects can be seen is controlled by a `switch` in the fsx.cfg file - as described at [url="http://www.fsinsider.com/Community/News-Articles/What

Hi,does that mean that on your system the sim fades in the autogen abjects just like fs9 did?Jan

Hi Alcott,Doubt that the system doesn't have the resources... Core 2 E6600 with 2 GB RAM and 7600GS 512 MB.So do you get fade ins? I definately don't even when playing with the pixel reject radius. I think they assumed that objects would gradually grow from 1 pixel and get bigger but this doesn't happen. They just appear.

I'm getting the autogen popup as well, one of the reasons I'm not too keen at having it at high levelsMust check fs9 again to see how it handles this issue, I have a feeling that fs9 displays the autogen over a wider area around the aircraft than FSX does, not sure though.John
