And I thought I understood aerodynamics

Last night I was flying the Maule in the snowy mountains mission (can't remember what it was really called) and took a peek out of the left window using the virtual cockpit. Because the Maule doesn't seem to have aileron trim (or if it does I can't find it) I was continually making small joystick movements to try and keep the wing at the right level above the horizon. When I banked left, I saw the left aileron move up, forcing the wing down. When I banked right I saw the reverse. So far my world view is intact. Now for a look out to the right. Nice mountains. Bank to the right and the right aileron moves... down??? And the wing also moves down? Bernoulli never told us about this interesting effect! Bank to the left and sure enough, up goes the aileron and so does the wing. Really quite weird to look at, even when you know it's just a sim and there isn't _really_ a wing out there being pushed up when it should be getting pushed down.Switched to outside view and the ailerons both move the right way. Phew.Has anyone else noticed this? I haven't tried it yet in any other aircraft.Colin

Sorry, didn't someone tell you that Bernoulli theorem was bought out by the mighty Microsoft Corporation? And has now been simplified for mass-manufacture. `Up` now means down, `good` means bad - and `Service Pack 1` now universally means: "...finally fix the things we shouldn't have dared get wrong in the first place". :)In the next installment: Microsoft buys Christmas. 1: Santa no longer comes to your door unless you have the right kind of chimney. All users will need to install a Fireplace Upgrade at huge expense. 2: Santa will not actually leave presents until he's checked you are the official recipient.3: Presents will no longer be regarded as `gifts`, they instead become `loans`. MS Santa reserves the right to claim them back at any time in the future, as Santa now has the right to peek through your window at any time to see whether you're being a good boy.4: Christmas is still planned for 25th December, but may be subject to delays of up to a year without notice - and when it does come it may not live up to your expectations. 5: Certain presents designed for Christmas one year may no longer function after Christmas next. In the event of 4: above you may find that your presents only part-function or don't do what they are supposed to do.Fortunately not everything will change:Christmas under Microsoft will still be a vastly expensive waste of time.Santa will still be a bloated fat old thing with a cheery disposition - on the surface. The sleigh will still be overloaded with presents which are useless, ineffective, cheap and nasty, but you have no choice but to accept them because they're from Uncle Bill and Auntie Vista.24 hours afterwards, you're left wondering what all the fuss was about.Merry Microsoft Christmas!!!! :-bluegrabAllcott
