Strange but when I'm looking straight ahead I get no engine/s sounds whatsoever. If I view slightly left/right then the headset bursts into life - that is until I return to the ahead n quiet view - any ideas?. Sounds are configured for the 5.1 surround and also have been for the headset - same results with both settings.Thanks - Dave D.

The default Jet engine sound's come from Behind which works really well with 5.1 speakers, but Headphones would give the result you have found.If you want to use headphones you should change the sound setup for 2 speaker sound.John

Thanks John - only reason I'm on the headphones is to reduce wife interference especially with the but-kicker turned up and plaster falling from the kitchen ceiling hehehe :)

I have this problem with a 5.1 speaker system, except the only difference is, when flying a prop airplane, and moving my viewpoint in the VC, the sound of the engine disappears completely, only when I move the viewpoint back to center does the engine noise come back... I have a sb audigy 4 pro with logitech 5.1 speakers
