My FSX reverted to demo mode

Featured Replies

Hi allI've been running FSX for a few months, but today it's reverted to demo mode and shuts down after 30 minutes. Any clues as to what might have gone wrong? Will I have to uninstall/reinstall or can I reactivate FSX (I've only used up one of my activations so far)David

Hi David.Sounds like you have an issue with Software Licensing. The SLDL store may have become corrupt, & so FSX thinks it is unlicensed.Microsoft released a Software Licensing System Reset Tool at:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928080for a different issue, but it may solve your problem. However, without a more detailed analysis of your problem I'm not guaranteeing or even suggesting that it will resolve your particular issue.Hope this information helps though. Good luck!- SkyDrift

Hi David.Yes you can remove FSX and reinstall back on to your pc as many times as you like and it will activate. If you should change any major hard ware then microsoft may count it as your second activation.I have reinstalled FSX three time after I have formatted my HDD,I have added a harddrive to run FSX on and have also updated my GPU's and I can still activeate FSX.Good luckRex

Thanks guysI decided to reinstall and now I'm flying again. Before I did this, I took backup copies of the effects, gauges and my favourite/re-painted aircraft folders so hopefully I haven't lost anything.David
