This may be a dumb idea. I have a Saitek switch panel which works great but it’s not organized the way I’d like it to be. You see I am trying to set up my sim to more mimic a Piper arrow PA28R like my favorite aircraft… the JustFlight Arrow that I use exclusively in Xplane11. It’s similar to the real one I get to fly once in a while.

What I would like to do is take the rocker switches and the gear switch out and mount them in different homemade enclosures and face plates so that I can locate them similar to the arrow switches and gear lever.

I have some experience using the arduino Mega2560 with SimVim while working on a transponder build. So it seems like this is a doable project to use those components in a different setup.

Is this a crazy idea? If it is possible would I use the controller in the switch panel or change to an arduino or even a leoBodner BBI32?

iIt seems simple on the surface but there is still a lot for me to learn.
