October 26, 20214 yr Hi all, I am looking at getting a PC for the new MSFS 2020. I am unsure about what build would be good enough to run it at 1080p or 1440p on high or ultra settings with around 30+ fps at most times. I have found a PC with these specs and I would appreciate any opinions on it. Thanks! PC BUILD: Processor - Intel® Core™ i7-11700 Processor - Octa-core - 2.5 GHz / 4.9 GHz - 16 MB cache RAM - 16 GB DDR4 (3200 MHz) - 128 GB maximum installable RAM Graphics card - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 - 8 GB GDDR6 Storage - 2 TB HDD (7200 rpm) - 512 GB SSD Motherboard ASUS PRIME B560-PLUS CONNECTIVITY WiFi - WiFi 6 - 2x2 - Up to 300 Mbps Edited October 26, 20214 yr by FSX meistro
October 27, 20214 yr It's not bad, there's a couple of things I'd improve right off the bat, like 32 GB of a higher speed RAM (3600 MHz) and a bigger SSD, at least 1 TB, and use that for the OS and MSFS. The CPU and 3070 is a very good combo and will be able to run anything you throw at it at 1440 resolution. It's overkill for 1080, though and a bit of a waste of money and potential. The big questions are: how much is it? What brand is it? Do you know the power supply used and the motherboard?
October 27, 20214 yr Author It's a PCSPECIALIST Vortex ST-S and it is £1700. I don't know what the power supply is but I know the motherboard is an ASUS Prime B560-Plus.
October 27, 20214 yr Author I have also designed this PC from the PCSPECIALIST website which costs around £2000. I'm not sure how reliable they are but these are the specs: Processor (CPU) Intel® Core™ i7 Eight Core Processor i7-10700K (3.8GHz) 16MB Cache Motherboard ASUS® ROG STRIX Z590-E GAMING WIFI (LGA1200, USB 3.2, PCIe 4.0) - ARGB Ready Memory (RAM) 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3600MHz (2 x 16GB) Graphics Card 8GB ASUS TURBO GEFORCE RTX 3070 - HDMI, DP, LHR 1st Storage Drive 1TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 64MB CACHE 1st M.2 SSD Drive 1TB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD (2000 MB/R, 1100 MB/W) Power Supply CORSAIR 750W TXm SERIES™ SEMI-MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET Processor Cooling PCS FrostFlow 240 Series ARGB High Performance Liquid Cooler
