FSX Product Activation Questions

Featured Replies

Guys (and Ladies) I need some advice on product activation of FSX. I purchased the Sim in January from Amazon and installed it on my desktop computer and activated it. Shortly afterwards my hard drive crashed, I had to go thru some #### to get a local service technian to analyize my corrupted hard-drive. He managed to get most of my email files and documents saved in "My Documents", I got a new RAID configured hard-drive installed and reload most of my work related programs. My real job it that of a tax preparer; luckly my client files were backed-up. Flying FSX was the least of my worries, as tax season was quickly approaching. Now that that activity is winding down I'm back to flying FSX.My questions are this, can I activate again on this computer which has a new hard-drive, or do I need to contact MS to activate? I've got the DVD and my product key. Also I'm planning to get another computer later this summer loaded with VISTA Ultimate. Am I going to run into another activation problem. I'll uninstall FSX off the old computer and plan to load it on the new one having VISTA Ultimate. If I have to call MS to get additional activiations, who do I call?

Er... why don't you just try to activate it before asking...? It won't hurt, you know... ;)Well, anyway... activating problems are highly exaggerated. I installed FSX twice on my old computer and twice on my new computer (talking about changed specs...! ;) ). I activated FSX without any problems. So... just install FSX, run the activation process and you'll see if it works or not. And if it doesn't, FSX will tell you what to do. ;)

Thanks, that's what I did, it activated without any questions or problems. Hopefully it will do the same when I purchase that new computer with VISTA Ulitmate as the OS. I guess I will have to uninstall FSX from the present computer before loading it on the new computer?

>I guess I>will have to uninstall FSX from the present computer before>loading it on the new computer?Officialy: yes.
