Need some help setting up an old joystick for use in 2022

Hi there I'm in possession of a Saitek Cyborg 3D USB Gold, I plugged it in this morning to see if I could use it as is and ran in to some issues. When calibrating it the joystick would stick to the bottom right of the screen and would only start to move if i pressed in the stick hard and started to move it, the slider would also not work unless the stick was pressed in, the hat and buttons work fine just the stick and slider. I'm running a windows 10 PC and when I checked for driver updates it said it was up to date. I have no idea what to do and it would be a shame to put this beauty back into storage.
