May 13, 200719 yr I'm afraid I am still struggling with this problem. Some time ago I managed miraculously to install FSX on my old PC.Now I finally got a new PC (specs below), running Vista Ultimate 64bits.I wanted to install FSX and ran into the dreaded Error 1722... Interestingly, this is a brand new PC with nothing on it. I have no connection to the internet with my PC, so I didn't do any updates of the OS.I downloaded the KB file from MS' support site. I tried running it with various levels of failure (so no success). Just clicking the file results in a DOS command prompt flickering in and out of view within a fraction of a second. So I fllowed the DOS advice.First of all, I believe the use of "-" or "/" when using the resetsldl options doesn't matter. Both seem to function.I am unable to use the "-All" option or the "-LicenseStore" option. I managed to use the "-trustedStore" option successfully. The others come up with an "HRESULTS" error, with some code.I tried adding myself to the user group (which I was already on) and logged out and in again. Then ran the tool, but only the "-trustedstore" option works.I'm now officially at a loss.In addition, this is no reinstall, but a clean install. New PC, new install.AFter running the tool I reboot and try to install... SHould I copy the files to teh HArddrive instead?I bought a new PC to be able to play this game properly, but instead I find myself having a problem that seems to be slightly different from what others experienced when installing this game. Can anyone help?My setup:Core2Duo 2.14 GHzASROCK motherboard2GB DDR2 RAMGeForce FX5700 Ultra2x Samsung 160GB SATA II Harddrives in RAID 0 configurationMS Vista Ultimate 64bit
May 15, 200719 yr Did you try this? Deleting the fonts installed by FSX helped this guy.http://forum.justflight.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=19460
