FS X error before starting due to SP1

Featured Replies

After a clean FS X, SP1 install, when i want to start FS i got the following MSG: "Flight simulator was unable to load some program files and will now exit. Please reinstall Flight Simulator to Restore or repair the program installation."The worst thing is that i tried both, but still got the same stuffDoes anybody know how to get over this??FS X with SP1 works if i Keep it unregistered (DEMO) but when i register it, i got this Error MSGPlease somebody help me!!!!:D

I got the same error. Strange enough, after installing fsx ran several times (during the same Windows XP session) without complaint. When I started Windows XP the next day, the problem occured. Maybe this issue has something to do with XP/Vista dual boot machines, I don't know. These steps have helped me to eliminate the error:1. Change to your FSX installation folder.2. Create a "Backup" folder inside the FSX main folder.3. Copy all files (no folders) from the FSX main folder to the backup folder4. Insert your FSX DVD15. Copy all files from the DVD folder "program filesmicrosoft gamesfsx" (or whatever its name is) to your FSX root folder overwriting all existing files (this makes you loose SP1, don't worry)6. Start FSX and quit it immediately after it shows its welcome screen.7. Copy all files from your backup folder back to your main FSX folder (this will give you SP1 back), overwriting all existing files8. Start FSX, you are done.
