July 6, 200718 yr This is from Phil's blog:There is additional code to reduce blurries. If you get random texture tiles that appear in a solid color this may help. In some cases, the textures generated from this code can get throttled and will be timed out. The time out config value is[TERRAIN]SWAP_WAIT_TIMEOUT=The default is 30 frames. Can someone please tell me what exactly this means in layman's terms. What exactly does this do?ThxIntel E6700 @ 3.8ghz2 gig Corsair Pc2-8500 @ 1066mhzEvga 680i nVidia motherboardEvga 7950GT 512 mb 158.27 Drivers2 74gig WD 10,000 rpm Raptors Raid 0Thermaltake 750watt Toughpower PsuAcer 22" Widescreen LCD
July 6, 200718 yr I experimented with it and found that increasing far enough caused stutters while I noticed no difference lowering it.I think if this value is too low, some textures FSX generates may never actually get sent to the GPU. I didn't notice such problems even with this set to 1, but I figured that if I couldn't tell the difference between 1 and 30, I might as well keep it at 30.
July 7, 200718 yr I noticed that I was missing my UTX night lighting when I had the setting at 20. I changed it to 90 and everything looks great.
