Hello and Happy New Year everyone!

I stumbled upon an older post regarding the use of the Thrustmaster TCA and none Airbus planes

I´ve purchased the whole package and so far managed to get all planes (FSLabs, PMDGs, TFDI 717, ...) working quite well. FSUIPC helped a lot.

Nevertheless right now I´m stuck. I think the TCA is messing up the Autopilot of the Majestic Q400. Maybe I´m totally off here, but the TCA is the latest addition to my cockpit, so I thought I´ll start looking for the root cause there. 🙂 Before that I was using the Saitek X52 and everything was working perfectly.

I managed to set up all axis and buttons, but I feel that some "hidden" TCA feature messes up the ability to use the Autopilot. It switches on properly but doesn't react to any inputs. E.g. HDG is selected but the plane doesn´t turn. Also the VS / IAS wheel is not responding.

Did anyone experience similar things when setting up this controler?

Your support is greatly appreciated!

Hi again,

I couldn´t let this go (just took me a couple of hours). 😉

It was in fact the throttle that caused the problem and made me learn about the "TCS" feature on the Q400. As it turns out my ENG2 ON/OFF switch is linked with the Q400 TCS button.

In the Q400 ini-File (Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\SimObjects\Airplanes\mjc8q400\ini) I´ve noticed this line:

Quote

"J0_b2=AFCS_->inputs.TCS_button"

After a bit of trial and error I narrowed it down to the ENG2 button. Now I can edit the ini accordingly. Maybe there´s a way to edit the key binding in FSUPIC, but I wasn´t able to test this yet.

Hope this clears things up, if anybody else encounters this problem.

Have a great day

Sebastian
