GTN 750 keeps resetting to VFR or turns off ALT mode

As of today, my GTN 750 in the VFlyte Arrow (latest XP 12) version, using the RSG GTN 750, keeps resetting to VFR - or it keeps my squawk code but turns ALT mode off.

This happens on the first ping received by the transponder. Trying to do a flight on PilotEdge but can't without a squawk code and ALT mode on!
