October 14, 200718 yr After a long time I again ran the 'getting started' intro flight and noticed that at st. maarten the 747 holding short for the private jet to land started taxiing on to the runway just as the other plane crossed it and touched down. It looked more like what actually happens in real life if a quick take off is required. But observing the ai traffic in free flights, it is much like older fs9; the plane holding short is not cleared till the landed one has cleared it. why so?and is there any way to make ai planes have rolling takeoffs?

In missions all the AI aircraft are hand programmed to do what they do. So the designer of that mission specifically told that 747 to taxi on the runway at that time. This is different than in 'free flight' where the AI movements are automatically generated on the spot depending on the current situation.
