[Aug 24] Canadian Xpress August 2024 Monthly Fly-In

This month, we celebrate the 15th Anniversary of Canadian Xpress. Founded back in 2009 after the virtual airline many of us were flying with suddenly shutdown without warning. Five of those members agreed to meet in Montreal a few months later with the goal of building not the biggest virtual airline but one free of restrictive routes, bidding schedules or focus on following real-world type operating models.

What came out of that weekend was Canadian Xpress and 15 years later we continue to operate with a large selection of both freeware and payware aircraft, an open route policy that allows pilots to fly where they want when they want as well as a large selection of tours and events.

Join us this month as we make the pilgrimage from London Ontario, home of John (CXA004) who made the drive to Montreal that faithful weekend. Along the way we will pass over east central Ontario, home to Dave (CXA007) one of the other remaining 3 active members from that weekend in Montreal. Marc (CXA001) who at the time was a resident of Montreal. Paul (CXA052) hosted the event and Robert (CXA326) adjusted his vacation plans and flew from the Netherlands to be part of the gathering. Both Paul and Robert have since stepped away from the virtual airline due to real-world commitments, but their support was instrumental in getting Canadian Xpress off the ground.

Canadian Xpress would like to invite all pilots to join us on Saturday, August 24th at 21h00edt (Sunday 01h00z) for our August 2024 fly-in where we depart from London International (CYXU) and fly to Montreal Trudeau International (CYUL).
