ESP (FS11?) - hardware scalability?

Featured Replies

Thanks Tom for the news on ESP - this was really what I hoped MS will finally come to, as anyone using Google Earth realizes that a flight sim world is much more than just a scenery. And the product lineup is a great marketing idea that could benefit both pros and amateurs and allow gradual expansion from basic core platform to semi-professional add-ons.However, I don't see one particular bullet in the ESP features - hardware scalability. The ideal scalability would mean buying the additional hardware as dictated by the amount of add-ons and simulators you have installed on your ESP, instead of completely upgrading it. Cluster architectures are a good solution, however I think MS will keep going the multi-core CPU/GPU trail. To me, this is not flexible, as I don't want to do the complete upgrade every 2-3 years - I'd be more happy to add the resources upon demand of my current ESP completeness. I'm really curious how the MS sees the hardware progressing curve this time? Is there any insight from the future Intel/AMD/nVidia concepts?
