FSX on Windows XP Embedded?

Featured Replies

It seems that people are going great lengths to optimize their systems for use in FSX, tweaking everything, reducing background services and startup items etc..So the logical question is: Why not use a reduced operating system in the first place? Windows XP embedded 120 day trial kits are available for free from Microsoft. So I`ve decided to take the plunge and order such a kit with the express goal of testing if and whether FSX will run on it. I will keep you posted! If this works, it will be a different question whether or not licenses for a full XP embedded version are affordable enough to make this worthwhile.Christian

XBOX as a future platform for FS has been discussed a lot here at avsim, which would be a natural choice if you wanna reduce hardware complexity and decrease the need for support. Not to mention reduced time to build FS.No thanks.Ulf B

Putting Windows XP Embedded on a regular PC I think would be a violation of it's EULA."Let me help you out. You're cleared to taxi any way you can to any runway you see."
