Vista SP1 has increased my FPS...

Featured Replies

First of all, my specs:Q6600 OC 3ghz2gig DDR400 RAM512mb Geforce 8800GTAsus P5K MotherboardTo test frame rates fairly, i select the 737 and start on runway 27R at Heathrow. When the plane, scenery etc. loads up i press nothing so i always see the same view (in VC) with the same weather etc. This ensures that the frame rate comparison is always the same.I used to get 21FPS at Heathrow everytime i ran this test. Since installing SP1 (for Vista) i now get 24-25FPS at Heathrow. A definite increase.I switched on DX10 and the frame rate dropped to 15. The "jaggy VC cockpit shadows" have disappeared, in fact the whole cockpit shadows introduced in DX10 preview have disappeared. Also the ground textures seem to have a lot of noise and dont look sharp.Since i dont fly in DX10 mode i am not too bothered with these issues although the bump in frame rate is always appreciated :)
