FSX Frame Rate Problems

Recommended Posts

I have a Intel P4 3.20 machine which is 2 yrs old,I have in it 2 gigs ram and running Win XP Pro 5.1.I have a Radeon X1950 Pro with 256 ram and DX 9.0c.I have the latest drivers and use Smart Close before running FSX and still only get 5-8 fps with all the sliders set to norm or below.I have no water or land traffic running.I am running in 1280x960 and I need to know what else I can do to my system to make this run better? Hi Jeff, Have you tried using Nicks tweaks on your system?Recomendations: http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/Ya...=1197380641/0#2Install: w/Acel http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/Ya...=1197380641/0#1wo/Acel http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/Ya...=1197380641/0#6Update for C++ Lib: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=enx64 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=enWndows Setup: http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/Ya...197380641/15#22Dealing with more than 2GB of memory in x32: http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/Ya...197380641/15#25Drivers and Nhancer: http://www.simviation.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/Ya...197380641/30#39Tuning FSX with UTX and add-ons: http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...d=437662&page=7Another cost effective improvement would be to get a faster (512 MB) video card, as only 256 MB of video RAM is a bottleneck. Going from your card to an 8800 GT OC would probably get you 7 fps in FSX, according to Tom's hardware VGA charts. http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/desktop...5%2C1558%2C1564Cheers,Noel.
