Can't install FSX

Featured Replies

Hello all, I've been running FS9 since I built my new computer, and now have reason to reinstall FSX. I put the disc in, and nothing happens. I go to D: and try to run the disk, it tells me 'Not a win 32 app' I've even tried to copy the disk to my HD and then install it from there, (I had problems with Mega scenery once and hadto do it that way), and still no go as it will NOT copy the entire disk as it tells me there is a problem and cannot copy xuipc.dll from my disk......Not a scratch on this disk and its always installed FSX perfectly before.ANY IDEAS>? I'M SORT OF MIFFED.Best, Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"

Hi Clay,Have you tried this with other software on disk, just to rule out system problems?Paul

Hi Paul, Yes I've tried both CD-ROM and DVD's to install on my system and there is NO problem there. The FSX disk will not install on autorun, comes up with the prievious mentioned error, and even if I try to copy the disk to my HD and install it from there, it won't copy the xuipc.dll file from the disk . . and the disk looks like it is in perfect shape. I hate like the devil to have to buy another copy of FSX just to play with it.Best,Clayhttp://www.dreamfleet2000.com/gfx/images/F...ers/Dopke01.jpgClayton T. Dopke (Clay)Major, USAF (retired)"Drac"

Thanks again PB, I would have never thought of that one . . .but again, that is what makes our hobby so great . . . the great people and the wealth of information that we all share with each other.
