Just got the attached email from my son who graduated from the U of I (as in Illinois) as as a metallurgist several years ago.He said ...For a few minutes of your time and some questions you can get a FREE copy of ProEngineer DeskTop. It looks way more powerful than Rhino and has a separate drafting package. I

Very tempting. It seems that you can import a dxf model.It remains to be seen if a converter from one of the formats to Microsoft x format can be found (possibly VRML to x?)From the Datasheet:Data ExchangeSupported Export Formats:
