Purchase failed after payment authorisation GTN 750

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping for some assistance regarding a failed purchase of the GTN 750 for X-Plane.

I attempted to purchase the product today (17 Dec 2025). The RealityXP website advertised a sale price ($35USD), so I downloaded the currently available coupon file.

When I ran the Flight1 installer:

  1. I entered the coupon code
  2. I noticed the text said the coupon expired in October 2025, but the installer accepted it anyway and correctly updated the price to the advertised amount of $35
  3. Because the website explicitly advertised the sale and the installer updated the price, I proceeded
  4. I completed the purchase through PayPal
  5. Immediately after PayPal authorised the payment and the funds were deducted from my account, the installer failed and terminated the process with an error stating the order could not be processed because the coupon is expired.

The PayPal transaction is currently on 'authorisation' status and will be returned to my account automatically in a few days, but this doesn't resolve the issue.

This situation effectively constitutes illegal false advertising; the website is promoting a sale price and providing a coupon that the system validates, but it impossible to actually complete the purchase at that price. It isn't acceptable to advertise a specific price, authorise a payment for it, then refuse to deliver the product.

I simply want to purchase the product at the price currently advertised on the website ($35), can anyone please provide some assistance or guidance, or if the developer is active on here could they please get in contact with me?

Thanks.
