REQUEST: Beechcraft Starship, please?

Featured Replies

I'll take this opportunity to thank those who read and responded to my request some time ago for a Tu-95 Bear for FS2K2. What resulted was very well done, and I'm sure many others enjoyed a lot of happy hours flying them, as I did. Thanks to all of you who work so hard to make new fun things for us to fly. I hope there's someone out there who likes the Starship. I had forgotten about that thing until quite recently, when a very different turboprop sound from above prompted me to look up and see a Starship inbound for Saint Paul's Holman Field. Unusual and impressive a/c. The last virtual one's for FS98, so it's time to take advantage of the FS2K2 possibilities and make one, don't ya think? So, I'll hope you get inspired to do a good one. I can say that it sounds very much like the Piaggio P-180 thing, since I'd seen and heard one of those not long ago. I've never flown one, but I'll be happy to help someone beta-test it if you need help. I'm a former pilot, but now disabled, homebound, so I have entirely too much time to fly. Life is good! Happy landings, everyone........ -dogbert

There was someone working one one some time ago. I don't know what happened to him or his plane. It looked very promising. Maybe he will read this post and respond.Later,Udo.:-wave

I found and downloaded the Starship for FS2K2.The only problem I had was that it appers that a GPS instrument in the panel doesn't want to load so I have to disable it when FS2K4 gives me the error (otherwise everything hangs). What would it take to update this gorgeous plane so that it's 2K4-compliant? (i.e. replacing the GPS I'd imagine)Or is there an update I don't know about? Thanks in advance.

Here is a new panel.cfg which will upgrade the Starship to FS2004:// This Panel.cfg file created by FS Panel Studio - http://www.fspanelstudio.com// Built Sunday, July 20, 2003 at 13:50 FSPS By:Ken Mitchell http://mitchspanelshop.fsgateway.com/[Window Titles]Window00=Main PanelWindow01=GPSWindow02=RADARWindow03=THROTTLE2//--------------------------------------------------------[Window00]file=MAIN.bmp size_mm=1600window_size_ratio=1.000 position=7visible=1ident=0gauge00=STAR_EADI!ed461cdu, 221,888,319,306gauge01=STAR_DME, -12,1073,237,118gauge02=STAR_radio, 1158,905,193,300gauge03=STAR_wearad, 784,917,361gauge04=cpt.toggles.777!Autopilot, 1179,655,37,41gauge05=cpt.toggles.777!Autopilot HDG, 1257,655,37,41gauge06=cpt.toggles.777!Autopilot NAV, 1343,655,37,41gauge07=cpt.toggles.777!Autopilot ILS, 1427,655,37,41gauge08=cpt.toggles.777!Autopilot BC, 1506,655,37,41gauge09=cpt.toggles.777!Autopilot ALT, 1179,710,37,41gauge10=cpt.toggles.777!Autopilot VS, 1257,710,37,41gauge11=cpt.toggles.777!Autopilot YAW, 1343,710,37,41gauge12=STAR_vsps, 1444,723,90,22gauge13=STAR_VSI, 515,678,19,171gauge14=STAR_ALT, 566, 723 ,192,191gauge15=STAR_EADI!ed462eadi, 198,603,340,346gauge16=STAR_asi, 26,705,172gauge17=STAR_APALTS, 1443,695,90gauge18=STAR_COMPASS, 1290,-26,142,123gauge19=kingair!Master_Caution, 1014,522,83gauge20=kingair!Caution_Annunciator, 1146,524,449,46gauge21=kingair!Master_Warning, 915,522,83gauge22=cpt.toggles.777!PitotHeat, 598,641,37,41gauge23=cpt.toggles.777!NAV-GPS, 700,641,37,41gauge24=cpt.toggles.777!PanelLights, 269,532,37,41gauge25=cpt.toggles.777!LandingLights, 323,532,37,41gauge26=cpt.toggles.777!TaxiLights, 373,532,37,41gauge27=cpt.toggles.777!NavLights, 421,532,37,41gauge28=cpt.toggles.777!StrobeLights, 471,532,37,41gauge29=cpt.toggles.777!BeaconLights, 527,532,37,41gauge30=cpt.icons!ATC, 559,1165,25,26gauge31=cpt.icons!Checklist, 598,1165,25,26gauge32=cpt.icons!GPS, 676,1165,25,26gauge33=cpt.icons!IFR, 714,1165,25,26gauge34=cpt.icons!Map, 637,1165,25,26gauge35=cpt.icons!Throttle, 754,1165,25,26gauge36=STAR_OAT, 44,918,124gauge37=STAR_CHRONO, 31,959,150gauge38=kingair!Pitch_Trim, 1548,1080,46,114gauge39=STAR_GearLever, 1412,1066,35gauge40=cpt.toggles.rocker.r!Battery, 1402,956,29,46gauge41=cpt.toggles.rocker.r!Alternator, 1477,956,29,46gauge42=cpt.toggles.rocker.r!Avionics, 1552,956,29,46gauge43=STAR_gear_lights, 1402,1009,49,55gauge44=mooney_bravo!Flaps Switch, 1474,1069,47gauge45=STAR_VERTICAL-SPEED, 572,956,191,190gauge46=STAR_stbyai, 1301,771,133,132gauge47=STAR_Staltimeter, 1445,760,154,155gauge48=STAR_airspeed2, 1141,763,146,145gauge49=STAR_RPM-1, 802,630,99gauge50=STAR_RPM-2, 880,630,99gauge51=STAR_TIT-1, 802,715,99gauge52=STAR_TIT-2, 880,715,99gauge53=STAR_TRQ-1, 802,798,99,99gauge54=STAR_TRQ-2, 880,798,99,99gauge55=STAR_FF-1, 955,630,99gauge56=STAR_FF-2, 1029,630,99gauge57=STAR_FLAPS, 1078,779,31,102gauge58=STAR_fuel, 973,719,140,67gauge59=STAR_trim, 1004,854,46gauge60=STAR_kk!GPSGroundSpeed, 995,809,62//--------------------------------------------------------[Window01]size_mm=456,378window_size=0.5position=8BACKGROUND_COLOR=0,0,0VISIBLE=0ident=GPS_PANELgauge00=fs9gps!gps_500, 0,0//--------------------------------------------------------[Window02]file=IFR.bmp file_1024=IFR.bmp size_mm=320window_size_ratio=1.000 position=0visible=0ident=IFR_MAIN_PANELwindow_size= 0.210, 0.240window_pos= 0.500, 0.744gauge00=CPT.F16!Radar, 20,12,284,226gauge01=CPT.F16!Radar Mode, 47,241,93,20gauge02=CPT.F16!Radar Range, 176,241,92,20//--------------------------------------------------------[Window03]file=THROTTLE1.bmp file_1024=THROTTLE1.bmp size_mm=463window_size_ratio=1.000 position=0visible=0ident=Throttle_Panelwindow_size= 0.300, 0.490window_pos= 0.710, 0.525gauge00=kingair!Throttle Quadrant, 2,268,454,305gauge01=kingair!PropRpm1, 231,145,115,115gauge02=kingair!PropRpm2, 346,145,115,115gauge03=kingair!Rpm1, 1,145,115,115gauge04=kingair!Rpm2, 116,145,115,115gauge05=cpt.toggles.king!StartJet1, 126,64,50,65gauge06=cpt.toggles.king!StartJet2, 280,64,50,65gauge07=cpt.toggles.light.old!Fuel1, 50,79,36,36gauge08=cpt.toggles.light.old!Fuel2, 369,78,36,36Day=255,255,255Night=150,0,0Luminous=160,160,80[Default View]X=0Y=0SIZE_X=8191SIZE_Y=4000Mitch
