Placing lights into gMax model...

Featured Replies

Hey! I've been experimenting with some changeable formations with my Midnight Hawks formation team "plane". Like you can see from the attached screenshot, the formation really changes formation. But that is not the problem here... The problem can be seen in the little pic in the middle of the sceenshot. Because of the changing formation, I need to build the lights into the model itself (can't use aircraft.cfg obviously). But for some reason all my lights seems to be right in the middle of the planes when they should be on wingtips and noses. Any idea why that happens? How do you place the lights correctly? is there any tricks you gotta do to get them on the places you want them? Then also another light related problem. I can't seem to be able to use the LIGHT_BEACON or LIGHT_STROBE materials at all. If I try to make a strobe for example and I make a material called LIGHT_STROBE and apply that on the model, MakeMDL crashes when I'm trying to compile a model. Then I take the strobe parts away and everything works just fine again. Any ideas on this one too? http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/mmniemi/shots/formation.jpg

Yup, saw it already...Looks like grouping the models seemed to mess up the pivot points. But when I remade them and then grouped again, they worked. Thanks for the help...http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/mmniemi/shots/formation3.jpgMikko
