How can I make realistic textures?

Recommended Posts

Guest

Hi...I'm new in the forum and I already have a question...I've done about 5 gmax aircraft, they look ok but when I make the textures for them they look weird, it doesn't have the impact as other textures I've seen in other fs2002 aircraft. My question is what software can I use to make cool texture efects (like dirt, oil, 3d effects and stuff like that)...This Twin Otter is an example of that...Cheers :-beerchug

To create texture effects, any graphics application will work. I use Paint Shop Pro, its $99 downloadable from www.jasc.com or you can buy it at any computer store. Others use Photoshop, which will run you about $300. Creating the textural effects is up to your imagination, 3D effects will be tough to incorporate in fs, but oil, dirt, reflective textures are very easy to create.A few sites to visit, www.aluminumcloud.com lots of stuff for CFS2, but also includes info for fs2002.Also visit www.freeflightdesign.com and visit the resources link, there is loads of stuff there on texture creation.Good luck.Dave
