contact points

Featured Replies

Hello gang,Im having some trouble, Im wondering if there's an easy way to set contact points and scrape points.I have a gmax design thats a very small homebuilt pusher plane. I cant seem to get the dang thing to set on the ground. Here's what Im doing...I took one of the few pusher's I could find and used it as a template, the problem being, its like 10 times the size of my plane, so everything is way off.Is this a bad way to go about this? The sdk has been some help, but I guess im looking for a shortcut or easier way than changing the value, starting the sim, change the value, start the sim...and on and on and on.Can gmax be of some help in setting the values?Any help you can throw my way?thanksodog

Well there are 2 things that need to be done. The easiest way would be to first determine the cg point in Gmax. When you have set this you can measure the distance to the gears. You then go to the aircraft.cfg and enter the values found. Leave the cfg file minimized. Start Fs and load your plane. If it needs tweaking use alt+tab to switch windows. Max your cfg file window and change. Save, maximize FS and reload the plane. You will then see the changes you made.Hope it helps.Uod.:-wave

Thats great, I wasnt aware the changes could be made on the fly!I set my pivot of my grouped model to 0,0 in gmax and after some tweaking its now setting on the ground...yeah!this makes it much easierthanks...Uod?...Udoodgo :-)

Glad it works out ..And yes, it should be Udo, typo :-hahRegards,Udo.:-wave
