Interesting anomoly with Gmax

Featured Replies

I found something out about Gmax, it doesnt want to do certain things on Sundays. If you use the Material Navigator, then click on the material editor button on the navigator, Gmax will error out, and close down. I did this a dozen times, thinking Gmax was screwed up. I changed the date to tomorrow, and the error goes away. This must be Discreet's subtle way of saying take a rest on Sunday. Dave

>I found something out about Gmax, it doesnt want to do >certain things on Sundays. Yep, you found the "Never On A Sunday" bug. The workaround is to either do as you did (change the date) or simply don't use the Material Library... :)

Ha! Y'know, I could never figure out why it seemed that some days, the material editor always bugged out, while other days it worked fine. Now I know! "Never on a Sunday." Well, whaddyaknow. :)Matt

This is a known bug that Discreet are aware of, I'd be hugely suprised if it was in the next version of gMax...Have funFinn

I've looked at my calendar and it's definitely not April 1st..Being naturally suspicious I will have to wait another five days to try this out.To quote John McEnroe, "Are you SERIOUS!!!" :-)

>I've looked at my calendar and it's definitely not April >1st.. >>Being naturally suspicious I will have to wait another five >days to try this out. >>To quote John McEnroe, "Are you SERIOUS!!!" :-) Absolutely! Just make sure that you don't have anything important loaded at the time... 'cause it will just flat CRASH!!!BTW, I've noticed that it only gives me a problem after 12 noon on Sunday, and lasts until just after midnight...

I think that must be one of the coolest bugs I've ever heard of. Not even Microsoft would be _that_ inventive in their bug creation :D
