Repaint Woes

I have a small problem... I am not designing an aircraft, but I need help with a re-paint that was put out gor it. I was trying to find a good-looking LOT 737-400 that was freeware and I found one in the form of a repaint. But the only problem is, that when I put in in the Texture folder, and modify the airfcraft.cfg file, it will not come up in the menu! The repaint is for the Default 737, and that is where I looked. I tried 3 things, #1 - Just installing the textures traight. #2 - I tried to overwrite the Txtures in a previous aircraft and #3- I took the textures from the original 737 (Orbit) and put copied them into a new folder, and then put in the repaint. After all 3 attempts, all failed. Any help here would be greatly appreciated!
