November 24, 200223 yr Default Spot View distance [/p] [/p]Sometime in the past 10 months.. I posted a `guide to setting spot view distance'. As a brief summary.. the general `spot view' would be set equal to 2x the aircraft wingspan. In actual FS flights.. it's almost always (here) set to 4x wingspan and then zoomed in 2x using the ' = ' key. This is for taking GREAT screen-cap pics. The question is.. how does one set the Default Spot View in feet?? Going to the pulldown menu is a pain-in-the-___ and sometimes crashes the Sim. There is a nifty utility for editing the MDL file at: http://www.tcdsoft.de/frame.htmlThis utility uses a `zoom factor' for spot view distance.. but how does it relate to a distance in meters or feet?? The default ZF in this utility is 16 .. but it's not clear what that means.Could you designer post a brief but comprehensive overview on default spot view?? Thanks for a reply.
