TOWER, I CAN'T SEEM TO LOWER MY NOSE GEAR ...

Recommended Posts

Guest Fly1

I have been reading several of the tutorials on gear retraction, but I seem to be missing something. My nose gear group (tire, hub, and gear leg)is tagged c_gear. I have set up the animation sequence in Gmax which works fine. But, when exported to FS, no joy.I will be searching this and other forums for comments, but any helpful tip would be appreciated. Thanks as always!!!!

To add a little, I just read were FS ignores groups when animating, therefore I altered my nose gear to a tire group linked to the gear leg, which I tagged c_gear. Fine in Gmax but still no go in FS. I'm sure it's a simple thing I am missing, but this is my first retract attempt.Oh well, onward through the fog. Bob C.

Hey,A little more info is always helpful. All I can offer from your post is your not "grouping" the gear are you? Each piece needs the tag...C_gear_upper C_gear_lower C_gear_axeland needs to be linked properly...And just a kick in the head, make sure your airfile has retracting gear.Check this out and post some more info if you still have troubsA screenshot of your gear heirarchy is always helpful...odog

After checking a few more things, I found when I ungrouped the assembly I accidently tagged it as c-gear. Corrected it to c_gear and VOILA, worked fine. By the way, it does appear a group linked to a single item will animate in FS.Example: Group = Tire - Hub - Pivot Assembly Single item = Gear Leg - Tagged "c_gear"Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated !!Bob C.
