December 3, 200223 yr Basically this allows you to use gMax to visually set your contact points (not just position but also gear compression, etc), static height/pitch, etc and then copy and paste the data to your aircraft.cfg file. Here's the beta script. I was hoping to polish it a little more before release but I'm not going to get a chance to work on it until next week so....READ THE README.TXT FILE BEFORE USING!...as the script doesn't have much in the way of error trapping and the like:http://supadetail.gmaxsupport.com/temp/contacts01.zip (~5K)I've also recorded a video which talks through the whole process using the sample P47 gMax model. It's not really very polished, but I only did it in one 'take' as it's only for the beta one after all!http://supadetail.gmaxsupport.com/vids/contact_beta01.zip (~13M)You'll also need the camtasia codec which you can get from http://supadetail.gmaxsupport.com/vids/TSCC.exe (~169K)if you don't have it already.Have funFinn
December 4, 200223 yr Thanks Finn,I was playing around with it and it seems to go through the paces just fine...I wish I had a taildragger to give it a full test. What type of problems have you noticed with tricycle gear???thanks again, odog
December 4, 200223 yr It's not too major, basically the static pitch angle stays positive, even if the plane is 'pointing' upwards when at rest - when it should be negative I think. Apart from that it should all work and should save a lot of time - not to mention the fact that your contact point data will be stored in the gMax model.I'll be looking at how I can make it into a 'scripted plugin' which will make it possible to add the various helpers to the creation panels directly, plus of course add some error trapping and default values based on the type of contact point created.Have funFinn
