Gmax problem

Recommended Posts

Guest cwright

Some time ago, after not using Gmax for a while, I found the edit windows filled with graphical garbage, making the program unusable. It worked with OpenGL, but the rendering quality was very poor. After installing the latest version of Gmax all was well. But then, a week or so later, the problem recurred, with the edit windows filled with garbage. Re-installing Gmax didn't help. I'm not sure if DX8.2 (installed with CFS3 a few weeks ago) could be the culprit. I have a vague recollection that somebody reported a similar problem some time ago. Does anyone have any ideas? Many thanks. 800 Mhz P3, 256 Mb RAM, GeForce 1 32 MB, Win 98SE Best regards, Chris

Joe, thanks for the suggestion. I'll try that. I actually came back to post a new message about it, so here it is....Would you believe it.... After having this problem for weeks, I just tried it again - and it works! I didn't change anything, it must be the phase of the moon. But I did notice that with the latest Gmax version there are constant pauses as it accesses the hard disk. The previous version didn't do that. Best regards, Chris

Yeah, I believe any weird thing that gmax does...I notice some slowing when I have big models with textures loaded up. If that's the case try useing the Degredation Override button. It seems to take some strain off the system.glad its fixed.joe
