RGB recommendations for "fixing older FS2000 style gaug

Featured Replies

Hi all,I bought Battle of Britain Memorial Flight today and would like to change the night illumination of the 2D gauges (and 2D cockpit) of the Chipmunk (no VC in this aircraft). These gauges appear to be older style ones that default to the (imho horrid) "pink" tinge at night. I realise I can solve this with the "night=" and "luminance=" parameters in the panel.cfg file, but what I am after are some suggestions of what RGB colours to try please. At present I'm trying a soft antique "yellow / green" lighting effect using 219,253,168 (give or take a few points here and there for fine tuning). The problem is, I have no experience of what these older cockpits might actually be like at night, but also I don't want to pick a lighting scheme that could hurt my eyes over say a 90 minute night VFR flight. Can people suggest some colours that I could experiment with that have worked for them, preferably over the long term (that is, you don't get sick of the colours you use). Thanks for any suggestions.

here's what I like to use in my P-38s:Day=255,255,255Night=110,110,83Luminous=115,115,94I do a lot of night flying and I've found this combination to be my favorite, and it kind replcates the old painted phospohorous gauge look. - dcc

Many thanks! I will give it a go.
