Multiple part texture

Featured Replies

I am having trouble texturing multiple parts in FSDS2. I want the top of a wing and aileron to line up but the aileron seems to end up painted with a pic of the whole wing when I am done. Can anyone give me a quick rundown on how to paint a wing and aileron in FSDS2?Thanks!!

IT's in the tutorials - Advanced Exercises/texturing multiple parts. When assigning your texture, select both the wing and the aileron (and flap, as the case may be). Usually, you'll make the wing the "current" part and assign the texture to it. When clicking the final "okay" you'll get a dialog box to the effect of (apply texture to selected parts?" Click yes and the texture should be evenly applied. Any final tweaking to the texture alignment with the aileron can be corrected with the spinners in the texture alignment box for the aileron part.

Felix,I must be missing smething because I followed the tutorial and what you said, but the aileron keeps projecting a smaller version of the wing instead of being evenly textured with just the aileron part of the bitmap. I tried it with the wing as the current part, the aileron as CP and even a reference part like the FSDS tutorial says. MMMM I am stumped.

I have followed your directions and those of the tutorial to the letter, yet the aileron still projects a smaller version of the WHOLE wing bmp. I tried making the wing the current part. I tried the aileron, even a reference part, but I get the same results. I am stumped.
