Engine sounds from external view

Featured Replies

Is it possible to make the engine whine sound louder if you are viewing the airplane from the front (external view) and the engine rumble alot louder if viewed from the back?ThanksEnrique

Increasing the horsepower parameter in the aircraft.cfg file increases loudness of the engine. That's all it does.Look for or add this parameter under the piston engine section:max_rated_hp=160 <

Milton, I checked the SDK and I don't really see anything in there that could help me. By the way, my airplane is a jet. So there's a turbine whine in the front, and a loud rumble in the back.Enrique

Enrique,I do not know if this parameter has any effect on jet engines.I should have mentioned that the whine and rumble sounds must be different sets to control the amplitude separately. Usually for jets, the rumble sound is separate.Analyse your sound.cfg to get the filenames for each set. Then you have the option to go to a basic recorder, like MS's Sound Recorder, open these sounds and change the volumes. Please backup originals first.Milton
