January 23, 200323 yr I'm not qwite a newbie at using Gmax and FSDS, but for the life of me, I can't seem to model the forward fuselage (radome/nose, cockpit etc.) of an a3XX...Could someone Please give me some pointers!!!
January 23, 200323 yr hi, Well, I'm more of a GA man, but I fired up gmax to see what I could come up with to help you. I just made a sphere and used the hemisphere entry to cut it exactly in half, and converted it to an editable mesh. Then used uniform/ nonuniform scaling and moved the verts around. I didnt have a background but it looked pretty smooth. Then when you cut the windows, try to boolean them... this takes practice to get it to look right, so be patient.Try the sphere, maybe an iron giant fan could be more help.joe
January 23, 200323 yr I found that cutting the windows using a boolean cut then selecting indvidual verts you can easily refine the cockpit design (although it does take some time)Little hint if you build on half of the cockpit then flip it to the otherside you should get a perfectly symetrical nose shape.Clod
