Is there any program, or method to open up an MDL file in plain english and make changes to it. According the FS2K2 MDL format SDK, the file is in a RIFF format.-Matt

Not really - the closest you can come is with a hex editor, and then you'd really have to know what you're doing.WHile there are some programs that can take MDL files and convert them to dxf, you'd still need a design program to reconvert the model to a flyable MDL again, plus reanimate, retexture, etc. In the end, it's easier to just build a model from scratch.
