March 18, 200323 yr thanks for the help with the fuel burn issue -now i have another issue. when I am descending at a rate of 2000 fpm at a gross weight of 150000 lbs is it proper for the 727 to speed up because I am getting speeds close to 340 knots. this is probably a question for some real 727 drivers out there so i would like to know if this is how the real bird behaves on descemt and if not how to slow it down??
March 20, 200323 yr Hi sir: the proper descend speed for B-727 is M.80/280. You are flight at FL-350 as example. Start the descend at that speeds and record the rate of descent for fl300, fl200 and fl100 and post me.Jose
March 22, 200323 yr Hi Gooper: i receive your mail. I will need the rate of descend at differents levels. The problem will be due low/high mach drag or low/high parasite drag. I need the rate at high altitud (and high mach), medium altitude, and low altitude (low mach).Jose
