Must any xml gauge have a associated compiled (C++ ) guage to work?

Featured Replies

Hello all, firstly, I downloaded Arnie's FAQ guide, and have taken a cursory look into the SDK_Panel_Gauge html pages. So I believe I have taken the first step regarding gauge design. My question is. Can one design a gauge using the XML language that can produce lets say a sound when the aircraft exceeds MACH 1........WITHOUT HAVING TO HAVE AN ASSOCIATED C++ COMPILED GUAGE THAT WORKSWITH THE XML GAUGE TO PASS INFORMATION TO THE SIMULATOR. For instance, to actually trigger (load a...) sound file that makes the bang?I see one individual in this forum had made a comment that he does not understand how to program in C++ and that he has made all kinds of XML gauges. I am a bit confused. Can someone take the time to explain for instance where one could design an XML Gauge that is fully functional without the need for an associated gauge that is compiled using a C compiler per the SDK tool?Thank you in advance for any enlightment on this subject....
