November 24, 200322 yr Hi folks,Basically, I'm sitting here with a cockpit from an old airplane sitting in my garage. The thing has been gutted out and the instruments were replaced with some 17inch LCD monitors and it's all hooked up through some Elite Simulations hardware. Overhead, projecting on the wall is an Infocus projector that spits out about a 70 inch display in front of the airplane. It's an impressive setup. Now, what I'm wanting to do is to fly the Cessna 172SP in virtual cockpit mode and use the TrackIR2 http://www.trackir.com in Virtual Cockpit mode.My question is, is it possible to remove the actual virtual cockpit panel in the default Cessna 172? I have been able to rip out the gauges, but when I switch to VC mode, I still get the actual cockpit. I would like it to only be the scenery outside and have the ability to pan around it like you would in virtual cockpit. Any ideas?Thanks,Erichttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/49935.jpg
November 24, 200322 yr That's a really amazing setup Eric!If you want to remove the VC then the info in this topic will do it for you:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...ing_type=searchPay particular attention to Reply #14 by Kurt, it is the second occurrence of the 0022003900 string that will switch off the VC. It has been determined that the first appearance of that string in the .mdl file concerns aircraft shadows.
November 24, 200322 yr Sweet sweet setup... Windy too, eh? :)Also, if the gauges are gone, you can always change the vc texture into a colorkeyed alpha, and paint a full black alphachannel, which renders the whole texture fully transparent.
