there's a Gmax Handbook for 30$ i saw awhile ago, but i havent heard much buzz about it.Tell ya what i use is the 3ds Max Bible, and other 3ds material. The programs are so similar that you will be able to follow most modeling tutorials. I did get the 3ds Bible AFTER i was very familiar with Gmax, it just helped make me think like a modeler, and not some guy trying to run gmax. lolgood luck. search out all the 3ds max tutorials you can find. They are step by step with pics and will help you a lot.I think the Gmax help files are very good, search for a tool or process and you get a mini tutorial... neat.learn as much as you can at the beginning, so you can forget it all and just create.joe
