flap/slat angles in aicraft.cfg

Recommended Posts

Guest adameke777

I went through several aircraft.cfg's and noticed that the slat positions are usually 0.5 and 1.0, while in real life those may be 15 and 30. For flaps, on the other hand, the position correspond to actual angles. Why the difference ?

Greetings Adam,In MSFS if an aircraft has manually actuated slats it is convenient to allocate them as the first stage(s) of lift augmentation obtained by movement of the 'flap lever'. The value assigned to the variable may be that required to create the correct lift, drag and pitching tendency, or these may be individually corrected using the relevant scalars for that set of flaps.nFSAviator
